Conditions

• Available From 13/04/2011
• Nominal term in months, based on full-time employment 30 - Would be reduced to 12 months on completion of the Certificate II qualification
• Available Part-time Yes - the following conditions apply:
  
  • The minimum number of hours of employment is 15 per week unless otherwise agreed by TTAC;
  • The maximum term of the training contract is no more than twice the full-time nominal term for the qualification;
  • The minimum term is no less than one and a half times the full-time nominal term for the qualification;
  • Industrial arrangements must allow for part-time employment.
• Notes This qualification has been replaced and will be discontinued on 31 December 2019. Please note: On 19 June 2019, Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Commissioners agreed to extend the transition period of the following qualifications until 31 December 2019. • RGR30108 Certificate III in Racing (Trackrider) • RGR30208 Certificate III in Racing (Advanced Stablehand) • RGR40108 Certificate IV in Racing (Racehorse Trainer) • RGR40208 Certificate IV in Racing (Jockey) ASQA made the decision following requests received from the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority, and a private RTO with the support of Skills Impact in their role as a Skills Service Organisation for the RGR - Racing and Breeding Training Package. This extension will be granted to all registered training organisations (RTOs) delivering the qualification(s) to current learners. The decision extends the transition period for these RTOs to complete the training, assessment and Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) certification issuance. The qualifications(s) will remain on the relevant RTOs’ scope of registration until the end of the extended transition period. ASQA will publish this decision on its website and notify all affected RTOs.
  All apprenticeships/traineeships must comply with Tasmanian Traineeship and Apprenticeship Committee Policies
• Nominal Term The nominal term of an apprenticeship/traineeship qualification is used to determine the nominal term of a training contract. The nominal term of a training contract will alter depending upon the training contract mode (full-time, part-time, school-based), any time credit applied for recommencing apprentices/trainees and the attainment of competency under competency-based completion requirements.

• Conditions This qualification has been approved for delivery as a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship in Tasmania. Tasmanian school-based apprentices and trainees and their employers must comply with the requirements of TTAC Policy 7 School-aged Learners. All other TTAC policies also apply to school aged learners. In particular, please refer to Policy 1 Entering a Training Contract, and any other policies and guidelines where relevant.
