Notes
This qualification has been replaced by CPP20218 and was originally due to be discontinued on 20 January 2020, however on 18 December 2019, Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) Commissioners agreed to extend the transition period of the CPP30411 Certificate III in Security Operations and CPP20212 Certificate II in Security Operations for learner cohorts in NSW, ACT, Tasmania and Victoria until 1 July 2020. ASQA made the decision following a request from Victoria Police, the Victorian security licensing regulator. On further research it was identified a number of licensing jurisdictions had not yet updated their educational requirements to obtain a security licence. This extension is granted to registered training organisations (RTOs) delivering the qualifications to learner cohorts in NSW, ACT, Tasmania and Victoria. The extended transition period is granted to allow each licensing jurisdictions time to update and communicate their revised security educational requirements. RTOs have been reminded of their obligations to comply with the Standards for RTOs 2015, specifically clauses 4.1, 5.1 and 5.2, in regards to disseminating accurate and factual information about a suitable qualification to achieve the outcome (licence) and the subsequent marketing/advertising of the qualification(s). The relevant qualification will remain on the RTOs scope of registration until the end of the extended transition period, unless they choose to withdraw it from scope prior. ASQA will publish this decision on its website. If you have any questions about this decision, please contact transitionrequest@asqa.gov.au
